[Letters 1915-1917.]

Published in German.

This new volume of letters written between 1915 and 1917 contains Max Weber's political comments on the First World War as well as personal expressions of sympathy to relatives and acquaintances who had lost members of their family in the war. Weber’s reflections on the course of the war, on the annexation policy and the intensification of the submarine warfare and also on a possible German post-war structure provide a trenchant addition to the political writings and speeches which are published in Volume I/15 ; "Politics in the World War." The 431 letters give an in-depth insight into Weber’s personal circumstances, his political endeavors and his scholarly works, in which the radical changes of 1918 are predicted.
