Since 2007, the series which was previously entitled "Late Middle Ages and Reformation" has been continued under its new name "Studies in the Late Middle Ages, Humanism and the Reformation (SMHR)." It focuses on the period between the late 13th century and the 17th century, including both epochs of the late Middle Ages and the early modern age. In addition, special attention is paid to religious movements such as the church reform movements and the Reformation as well as to the entire spectrum of those forces which shape a culture. In additional to the present editors Berndt Hamm (Editor-in Chief), Johannes Helmrath and Heinz Schilling, two new editors have joined the editorial board: Amy Nelson Burnett, Professor of Renaissance, Reformation and Early Modern History at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and Volker Leppin, Professor of Church History at the University of Jena.
