Michael KühnleinReligion als Quelle des SelbstZur Vernunft- und Freiheitskritik von Charles Taylor [Religion as the Source of the Self. Charles Taylor's Critique of Reason and Freedom.]Published in German. Michael Kühnlein deals with the religious background and motives of Taylor's social philosophy and his philosophy of freedom. In doing so, his main objective is to prove that the primacy of the good over the right, advocated by Taylor in an ethical context, cannot be separated from the theological implications of the transcendental concept of self-affirmation. Taylor outlines an understanding of freedom which derives its self being from the conditions of its realization. It is in this sense that Taylor describes the rise of modernism as a process that causes further delays in self-fulfilment.
