Björn PecinaFichtes GottVom Sinn der Freiheit zur Liebe des Seins [Fichte's God. From the Meaning of Freedom to the Love of Being.]Published in German. Björn Pecina reconstructs Fichte's philosophy of religion in its evolution from a practical self-consciousness to the theory of love and affects, which he developed late in life. He shows that the early conception of the ego and of freedom is maintained in the mature philosophy of religion in "The Way Towards the Blessed Life" and that it can be deduced from its fundamental principles. Fichte's ontology and his theory of affects thus proves to be the reason for transcendentalism. The author enlarges upon Fichte's philosophy in the strained relationship between the patterns of interpretation developed in a theory of meaning in religious self-consciousness and an ontology which is centered around the absolute as being and love. He thus pleads for a philosophical theology which is always nurtured by the interpretational process of the religious subject but which knows that these interpretations are at the same time a part of absolute being.
