Der leidende GottesknechtJesaja 53 und seine Wirkungsgeschichte mit einer Bibliographie zu Jesaja 53 Hrsg. v. Bernd Janowski u. Peter Stuhlmacher
[The Suffering Servant. Isaiah 53 and its Reception in History. Student Edition. ]Published in German. With its concept of the servant of God who suffers for others, Isaiah 53 is one of the leading theological texts in the Old Testament which had an extraordinary influence on Judaism and Christianity. The eight articles in this book deal with the subject of the suffering servant. Whereas the first three essays study the Old Testament text, its Deutero-Isaiac context and its pre-Christian reception, the following two essays focus on its inclusion in the Scriptures of the New Testament. The Jewish and the Christian interpretations of the fourth Servant Song are then presented, using the Targum of Jonathan, the Sepher Chizzuq Emunah and patristic literature as examples. There is a detailed and up-to-date bibliography on Isaiah 53 at the end of the book.
