Internationales Jahrbuch für HermeneutikSchwerpunkt: 50 Jahre Wahrheit und Methode Hrsg. v. Günter Figal, in Zus.-Arb. m. Damir Barbaric, Béla Bacso, Gottfried Boehm u.a.
[International Yearbook for Hermeneutics. 10th Volume 2011.]Published in German. This yearbook represents a broad basis of one of the main trends in present-day philosophy with its counterparts in other sectors of the humanities. Hermeneutics sees itself as a successor to German Idealism and to the philosophy which originated in Germany and Europe during the 19th and the 20th century. In a broad sense, hermeneutics can be seen here as a counterbalance to analytical philosophy. Particular emphasis is also placed on the reference to antiquity as the origin of European philosophy. To honor the publication of Hans-Georg Gadamer’s major work in 1960, this year’s volume is dedicated to the topic „ Truth and Method after Fifty Years”. Survey of contents: Schwerpunkt: 50 Jahre Wahrheit und Methode John Sallis: On the Manifold Senses of Mimesis: From Plato to Gadamer and Beyond - Günter Figal: Hermeneutische Wahrheit: Gadamers Frage und ihre phänomenologische Antwort - James Risser: The Lateness of Arrival in the Event of Understanding - Dennis Schmidt: On the Idiom of Truth and the Movement of Life: Some Remarks on the Task of Hermeneutics - Tilo Wesche: Wahrheit und Evidenz - Walter Brogan: The Hermeneutic Circle is Broken: On the Circulation of Being in Jean-Luc Nancy’s Hermeneutic Philosophy - Mirela Oliva: Gadamer’s Hermeneutics and Thomism - Theodore George: From Work to Play: Gadamer on the Affinity of Art, Truth, and Beauty - Nicholas Davey: Getting the Measure: Language and Reason in Philosophical Hermeneutics - Gert-Jan van der Heiden: The Double Experience of Translation in Hermeneutics Beiträge Werner Stegmaier: Die Autonomie der Orientierung - Birgit Recki: Proust über Schönheit - und die Frage, inwiefern der Autor der Recherche ein Kantianer war.
