Jus Ecclesiasticum

Edited by Axel Freiherr von Campenhausen, Michael Frisch, Martin Heckel (managing), Hans Michael Heinig, Christoph Link and Gerhard Tröger

The "Jus Ecclesiasticum. Beiträge zum evangelischen Kirchenrecht und Staatskirchenrecht" series, founded in 1968, explores the basic problems and special issues in the multifaceted modern law pertaining to religion in a pluralistic society, a law which originated in and applies to religious communities, especially in the Protestant churches, their partnerships and their ecumenical relations on the one hand and to the free democratic cultural and welfare state on the other hand.
The particular objective of the series is to shed light on the varying relationships and differences between the history of the law and the legal system, the theological and legal principles, the ideological origins and counterparts in comparative law and the theory and the practice of these branches of the law. More than 90 monographs and collections of essays have been published in this series.
