This book is a study aid for those dealing with exam questions pertaining to cases in international law. It also provides a repetition and consolidation of central topics in international law. The author gives 14 cases with solutions, which enable the student to deal with international law in an exam situation. Included are tips on content, structure and exam tactics, and references to literature and court rulings make it possible to obtain more detailed information on each topic. Andreas von Arnauld begins with cases concerning the “General Section” of international law (sources of international law, persons dealing with international law, questions of responsibility etc). The “Special Section” includes cases which focus on aliens law, human rights (European Commission on Human Rights), maritime law, environmental law, law for the prevention of war and international criminal law. The purpose of dividing this work into general and special sections was mainly to show the recurring problems in cases presented in international law exams.
