Christine BudzikiewiczMaterielle Statuseinheit und kollisionsrechtliche StatusverbesserungZu der Rechtsstellung des außerehelich geborenen Kindes unter Berücksichtigung der Folgen für das Kollisionsrecht der Legitimation [Substantial Uniform Status and Status Improvement through Conflict of Laws Provisions. About the Legal Position of Children Born out of Wedlock in Consideration of the Consequences for the Law of Conflicts Governing Legitimation.]Published in German. Christine Budzikiewicz studies the position of children born out of wedlock after the Child Law Reform Act took effect on July 1, 1998. The objective of this reform was to abolish the previous differences in status between legitimate and illegitimate children. The author examines the extent to which the marriage of the parents can continue to influence the legal position of the child and explains family law and the law of succession as well as the law pertaining to nationality and the law of civil status. She also asks how legitimation, which still does exist in numerous legal systems of other countries, should be dealt with in Germany in the future. In the second part of the book, the author studies the question of the connecting factor of legitimation and develops a solution to this problem for German international private law.eBook
