[A Compendium of Judicial Decisions in International Law.]Published in German. Oliver Dörr summarizes the most important decisions by international courts, using the original English texts, and makes them available to those who don’t have permanent access to official law reports. In compiling forty decisions and advisory opinions of the Permanent Court of International Justice (1923-1933) and the International Court of Justice (1949-2003), he provides a comprehensive survey of eighty years of jurisprudence in public international law. After giving a short summary of the facts of the case, the author presents each decision with its original text, only slightly abridged, and in a manner which allows to quote the original source. This is followed by a "dogmatic classification" of the decision which summarizes its significance in today’s international law in a few key sentences. Finally, recommendations for further reading material are given.
