Friedrich A. von Hayek: Gesammelte Schriften in deutscher Sprache

Herausgegeben von Alfred Bosch, Manfred E. Streit, Viktor Vanberg und Reinhold Veit mit Unterstützung der Friedrich A. von Hayek- Gesellschaft und des Walter Eucken Instituts

The main intention of the Gesammelten Schriften in deutscher Sprache (Collected Works in German) by Friedrich A. von Hayek is to compile those articles and books which he wrote originally in German or which are available in an authorized translation. If it is deemed necessary, some articles not yet available in German will be added in a first German translation. There are no plans to publish a complete edition of von Hayek's works.

Friedrich A. von Hayek's Gesammelte Schriften in deutscher Sprache include:

1. almost all of the works written originally in German;

2. almost all of those works written originally in English which are available in a translation authorized by von Hayek. A new translation of Law, Legislation and Liberty, published originally in three volumes (1973, 1976, 1979), has been published in a single volume entitled Recht, Gesetz und Freiheit;

3. selected writings written in English, if these are of particular importance for the collected works and have not been available in German up to now.

Each volume contains an index of persons and subjects and a bibliographical afterword describing the version on which the reprint is based, the pre-print versions as well as the history of their editions and translation.
