Jeffrey R. Asher untersucht die Argumentation des Paulus im 1. Korinther 15. Er macht deutlich, daß Paulus die philosophische und kosmologische Herausforderung in Bezug auf die Lehre der Auferstehung der Toten annahm, die einige Mitglieder der christlichen Gemeinde in Korinth an ihn stellten. Zudem zeigt der Autor, wie Paulus in der Lage war, die philosophischen Prinzipien der Polarität und Verwandlung zu übernehmen, um den christlichen Intellektuellen im alten Korinth die Glaubwürdigkeit der Auferstehungslehre zu verdeutlichen.
